Tips and Tricks for Packing & Moving!

Hello everyone!

If you follow my social media, you know that I'm moving out this weekend with my best friend Carlie !! I've moved quite a few times, and I've learned some tricks along the way... Hopefully these help you with your packing/moving!

Tip #1: Roll Your Clothes, Don't Fold!

This tip can help you whether you're packing for a vacation or moving into a new home. Coming from a girl who has WAY too many clothes, packing them is the most difficult part. Using a large box from Lowe's, or any box you have, roll up your clothes instead of folding them like you normally would. (See pictures below):

Tip #2: Reuse Your Boxes!

Don't have many boxes, or no money for boxes? If you're moving somewhat close, just reuse your boxes! Pack them up, bring them to the new place, empty them onto your counters, and go back and fill them up again! Another way to save space is to use garbage bags for anything you can. This may sound "trashy" (haha, get it!?) but to be honest, it's so easy! Especially with hangers. Wrap an elastic band around a stack of hangers so they don't all get tangled, and throw them in the bag!

Tip #3: Use Smaller Boxes!

I have a TON of stuff to move, and I'm not the strongest person...(let's be honest, I'm not very strong at all). Instead of putting everything in a few large boxes, it's easy to use a more small boxes; especially if you have a small car like me. These boxes are easier to lift, and will fit easily in your car!

Tip #4: This Is Your Chance To Unclutter!

The best part about moving, is the chance to FINALLY go through everything you have been piling up. While putting your things in boxes, ask yourself if you really need it, when the last time you've worn it. Maybe set some rules as to what you're going to bring with you. Donate old clothes or electronics! Don't bring the clutter with you.

Tip #5: Label Boxes!

Be honest, how many times have you just put all of your boxes in your new living room until it came time to unpack? I know I'm guilty. Label each box to which room it belongs to, and when you bring in the boxes, put them in that room. This will make things easier to find when you're unpacking or when you need something. I find this tip very helpful and I can't wait to use it this weekend.

I found this packing list on the Bed Bath and Beyond website and it's been very helpful! http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/registry/apartmentchecklist

Well those are all of the tips I have, I'm sure I'll come up with more after this weekend! I'm thinking about recording a room tour after I finish decorating which will probably be the end of next week. Let me know if you would like to see!

The Liebster Award!

Hi all!

For those of you who don't know about the Liebster Award, it's basically an award given to new blogs to help people discover them! Thank you so much to Jules from For Vanity's Sake for nominating me for this award! I'm so happy to be a part of it. :)

Rules:
1. You must link back to the person who nominated you
2. You must answer the 11 questions given my the person who nominated you
3. You must nominate 11 of your favourite blogs and give them 11 of your own questions to answer
4. You can’t nominate back the person who nominated you … and finally …
5. Make sure you let the bloggers know you’ve nominated them by sending them a message!

Jules Questions and My Answers:
  1. What is your favorite color and why?   My favorite color is baby blue/mint color. I'm not really sure why, I just really like it! It looks good for accessories, clothes, shoes, makeup, and many more!
  2. Do you cook? I'm going to have to go with no for this one. The only food I ever cook it Italian, mainly pasta, but I'm dying to learn!
  3. Which, in your opinion, is the worst fashion fad? Ed Hardy and Affliction shirts for men. Yuck! I have to admit, back in high school I didn't mind it. I was friends with a lot of guys that dressed that way. But that was over 4 years ago. Let's be honest...would you rather see a guy in an Ed Hardy t-shirt or a nice button up and dark wash jeans!? But, it's all a personal opinion!
  4. What’s your dream job? My dream job is to open a chain of stores selling women's young contemporary clothing!
  5. If you could make one wish to a genie, what would it be? Unlimited wishes? Haha, just kidding. I would wish for a healthy future for my loved ones and I.
  6. What is your pet peeve? I guess my biggest pet peeve is when people talk themselves up a lot. If you are a good person, or are smart, or have a good head on your shoulders, people will see that. You don't need to tell everybody about how pretty you are or about how nice you are. It just doesn't seem as sincere as it would if I were to find out on my own.
  7. Would you choose money or love? Most definitely love. As much as I love money to go shopping with, I think love can help create eternal happiness which is very important to me. I love to be happy!
  8. What is one obsession that you have right now? Home Décor. I'm moving into a new place this week, and I can't stop buying things for it, or searching on Pinterest. That's my weakness!
  9. Which Disney princess would you be? Cinderella. Timing is always off for me, but in the end, I end up happy for the most part.
  10. What’s your favorite book? I enjoyed the Hunger Games, but I'm going to have to go with Lauren Conrad's series. The Hills was my favorite TV show, so the books were very interesting!
  11. If you could give one advice about life, what would it be? My biggest advice to everyone is to work towards your dreams. Dreams don't work unless you do and if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life. Be happy with who you are, only the insecure bring out the insecurities. And don't try to rush your life, enjoy the moment, and be curious about what time will bring! I know that's more than one life advice, but I think this is worth it. ;)

Questions For My Nominees:
  1. What is your favorite store?
  2. How often do you shop?
  3. What is your favorite trend?
  4. What’s your dream job?
  5. If you could make one wish to a genie, what would it be?
  6. What is your pet peeve?
  7. Would you choose money or love?
  8. What is one obsession that you have right now?
  9. What is your favorite social media site?
  10. What's your favorite movie?
  11. If you could give one advice about life, what would it be?

Meet Ashley from Afternoon Espresso!

Hi everyone! It's so nice to meet you.  My name is Ashley and I'm the voice behind the blog, Afternoon Espresso.  I went to school for accounting and quickly realized it just was not for me.  {Don't get me wrong, I love spreadsheets and doing tax returns just as much as every other accountant}.  I realized I needed a little more interaction with people and more ways to be creative, which prompted Afternoon Espresso where I can showcase some of my passions, my personal style, and my love for cupcakes and traveling.  I would describe my personal style as somewhat random, depending on my mood.  {Doesn't everyone base their outfits on their mood?}  Lately, I've really been into adding pops of color and prints wherever I can.  Here is a glimpse into my personal style!  I hope you enjoy.  To learn a little more about me head over to Afternoon Espresso, email me, tweet me, or Facebook me!  I love meeting new people and I will be so happy to respond.

Sally Hansen Nailpolish Review

Hey everybody!

Hope everyone had a great Thursday, I was stuck in school all day. Though I finally got to apply for graduation! Yay!

Anywho, Influenster was nice enough to send me some samples of their new colors from the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure line to test out! I put all colors on my nails, but I found that I enjoyed the red color the most. (The name of each color will be listed at the bottom). The blue/mint color was very "liquidy", if that's a word, and was hard to put on. I don't feel that it stayed well, but I LOVE the color! Also, the one to the right says that it's black, but it's more of a deep deep purple. I really enjoyed that one too, I think that will be my next color!

I have to say, I applied the red nail polish in about 5 minutes. This is a huge plus because I am HORRIBLE at doing my nails. This polish went on so easy, and wasn't sloppy at all. The brush is the perfect size, the color is amazing, and they have not even chipped once in the past few days. Sally Hansen gets an A+ for me!

This is me wearing the red color.
The colors from left to right in the picture at the top:
Red My Lips, Jaded, Pat on the Back

Hopefully this review helped you if you were looking to purchase a new nail polish, or were wondering about the new Sally Hansen line! Send me your pictures via Twitter @JennaLeeAnnLLC if you try a Sally Hansen nail polish! I'd love to show them!

Also, I'm collaborating with Ashley from Afternoon Espresso next week, so be sure to stay tuned for her guest post, and my guest post on her blog!

I will also be featured by Kristen on her blog Kristen Blair! So keep a look out for that as well! :) Go check out both of their blogs!

Golden Globe Awards 2014

Hey everybody!

I have to admit, my favorite part of these types of award shows, is the fashion. I love seeing the dresses that the stars have picked out! I've pulled a few pictures to highlight some that stood out to me.

Here is Paula Patton rockin' the structured look. This look was seen on the runway, and structured looks are making their way as a trend this year! Way to go, Paula.

Emma Watson, I'm just not sure how I feel about this. I love how it's different, and she looks gorgeous, but I'm not sure this is one of my favorites of hers.

It's no surprise that Jennifer Lawrence went with a Dior dress. She looks gorgeous in it, and I love the short hair on her!

Looks like Sandra Bullock went with the color block trend this year! I'm not so sure I'm a fan of this dress with a side ponytail. I feel like it looks a little young for her. I think she would look amazing in something more elegant. Though I still love her!

Taylor Swift also went with a color block, however not as dramatic as Bullock's. I think she pulled off this dress very well, especially with her short hair!

Reese Witherspoon came in second for my list of favorite dresses. She looks so simple and elegant, but the color really stands out and makes her eyes pop. Well done, Reese!

My favorite dress is this Valentino dress worn by Keira Knightley! She looks so gorgeous. I love the design in the front, it really brings attention to her.

Well, I can't wait to see what comes across the red carpet next. I'd love to know all of your favorite dresses and who wore them! Leave a comment below or tweet me at @JennaLeeAnnLLC.

How To: Keep Your New Year's Resolutions!

Hello 2014!

Some people may think resolutions are "silly", some may live by them. Truth it, there's no right or wrong! But if you have trouble pursuing your resolutions, I've come up with a few ways that might help.

1.) Post-it them. -

By putting post-it notes by your door or on your mirror, you're constantly reminded everyday of these goals that you set on the very first day of the year. This could be better used for small goals, so you can throw away the post it once you've met the goal. It will help you feel accomplished and ready to fulfill more plans.

2.) Make an inspiration board. -

Part of sticking to your goals, means being motivated and inspired to do so. By making an inspiration board, you can see the end of your goals and how happy it will make you to finish them.

3.) Frame your goals. -

Every morning I go to my computer to check my e-mail, blog, and social media. Sort of like checking the newspaper I suppose! By having a nice frame right on my desk with my main resolutions typed out in a nice font, just motivates me to complete them because I see them each morning. This goes along with the post-it theory except it's a bit more neat and appealing.

4.) Make reasonable goals.-

Making goals such as "falling in love" or "becoming a millionaire" are not as reasonable as "loosing 20 pounds" or "traveling the country". Set goals that you can make happen by effort, not by luck or chance.

I hope these 4 ways to keep your new year resolutions help you throughout the year! Here are my resolutions:

Good luck! xo
