I would say about 75% of my closet is built up of basic pieces. The other 25% is my statement pieces. It is so important to invest in good basic pieces because you can build so many outfits around these items.

My favorite basics don’t all come from one brand/store, but I’ve linked my top must haves down below. Let me tell you what I consider a good basic before you trust me with my suggestions. I love basics that aren’t flimsy and don’t get holes easily. For basic tops, I hate tops that are so thin that you have to wear a tank top under it. For my denim it’s important that they are soft and flexible. For shoes, they need to be versatile and easy to wear.

This picture alone sums up my top must haves when it comes to basics. The shoes I wear with EVERYTHING, and so many people ask about them. I can seriously sleep in the jeans if I wanted to they’re so comfy. The v-neck is perfect especially for taller ladies because it’s not so short and boxy.
