Easy-to-Follow | Honey Sriracha Chicken Recipe

May 15, 2018

I haven’t done a recipe in way too long… I think since my Chicken Lettuce Wraps recipe, which if you didn’t try out already, you should. However, I have found my new favorite chicken recipe, and the boyfriend can agree too! This recipe is spicy, however you can tone it down or turn up the heat however you’d like. This is a must try that everyone will love. This recipe is super easy to make, literally anyone can do it. It also doesn’t take too much to make which is a good way to keep the grocery list at a minimum.

COOK TIME- 20 min.

INGREDIENTS-

  • Chicken breasts, diced
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • Cous Cous
  • 1/2 an onion
  • Garlic Salt
SAUCE-
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons sriracha
  • 5 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons honey

RECIPE-

1.) Finely chop half of an onion and add into small sauce pan and turn on high heat. Add garlic salt (to your liking) once onion is soft. Then, add 1 cup of Israeli cous cous to pan and stir frequently. Once brown, add 1 1/2 cup of water or chicken stock (preferred). Once stock gets to a rolling boil, reduce heat to a simmer, and cover pan while stirring every so often.

2.) In the mean time, add all of the sauce ingredients listed above into a small sauce pan, and let it come to a small boil on medium heat. Once it comes to a boil turn it down all the way.

3.) While sauce is heating up, dice up chicken (like picture above) and put into a plastic bag with some flour. Shake it up until chicken is coated in flour. Then heat up a pan with some EVOO on medium heat. Add chicken and cook and flip chicken until golden brown. (MAKE SURE THERE IS NO PINK IN THE MIDDLE BEFORE REMOVING CHICKEN FROM PAN.)

4.) Once chicken is cooked fully, add it into the sauce pan and mix it up. Pour chicken over cous cous and you’re ready to go!

Let me know if you try it out in the comments, and also let me know your favorite recipe so I can try it out!
